Privacy policy
Where Do I Vote MS (wheredoivotems.org) is a nonpartisan voter tool by MS Engaged. This page explains what we collect and why. Updated October 27, 2026.
The address you type
Your address is looked up inside your own browser, using a street guide the page downloads. It is never sent to us and never saved. For some addresses, your browser also sends the address to the U.S. Census Bureau's public geocoder to check the spelling or place it on the map (Census privacy policy).
What we count
To see how the tool is used, we record actions without names: pages viewed, lookups (by county and precinct, not address), and which buttons were used (calendar, share, directions, email reminder, phone bank). We also record where a visit came from (the link's tags or the referring website), the state you're browsing from as reported by our host, and whether you're on a phone or a computer. Your browser keeps a random ID so we can count visitors. We don't store IP addresses in this log.
We also use Google Analytics, which sets cookies to measure visits. Google's practices are described in its privacy policy; you can opt out with Google's browser add-on.
Email reminders
If you ask for an email reminder, we save your email address with your precinct and polling place so we can send your plan on Election Day. MS Engaged may also email you before future Mississippi elections. Every email has an unsubscribe link, or you can turn the reminder off on your results page.
Phone bank signups
If you sign up for the phone bank, MS Engaged uses your email address and county to contact you about volunteering.
Who else is involved
We don't sell your information. These services help run the site: Cloudflare (hosting), Stadia Maps (map images your browser loads), MS Engaged's email service (reminders), Google (analytics), and Facebook only if you choose to share.
